EpiCURA and HELHa strengthen their collaboration with a scientific and educational partnership

The EpiCURA Hospital Center and the Haute École Louvain en Hainaut (HELHa) have officially signed a framework partnership agreement. This alliance aims to develop and structure their collaboration in the fields of training and scientific research.

The agreement is based on a shared vision: promoting excellence in healthcare and strengthening the alignment between professional training and real-world needs.

This is yet another asset for HELHa in the healthcare and medical technology sector, as the institution already maintains partnerships with other hospital structures, including the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi, as part of its development in the Charleroi region.

Four strategic areas

The partnership with EpiCURA Hospital Center will help structure and intensify existing initiatives around four strategic areas:

1. Professional continuing education

EpiCURA nurses will benefit from continuing education sessions provided by HELHa lecturers. These trainings will take place directly within the hospital facilities, taking into account the institution’s specific internal procedures.

2. Support for nursing assistants

Training days will be co-organized for nursing assistants to ensure they maintain their professional qualification (nursing assistant license).

3. Student support

Guidance for students in completing their final dissertations will be strengthened, with active participation in defense juries.

4. Collaborative scientific research

The focus will be on collaborative scientific research, with the goal of developing joint research projects, pooling resources, and jointly disseminating results.

François Burhin, CEO of EpiCURA, and Philippe Declercq, President-Director of HELHa, expressed their enthusiasm:

“This partnership strengthens the interaction between the hospital sector and higher education, for the benefit of both patients and future healthcare professionals. It represents a major opportunity to improve the quality of care through the sharing of knowledge and best practices,” said François Burhin, CEO of EpiCURA, and Philippe Declercq, President-Director of HELHa.
